With the rapid development of science and technology, most smart phones have wireless charging (WPT) function, and even some high-end devices can realize reverse wireless charging. Some wearable devices have also joined the ranks of wireless charging, which makes more and more wireless charging base station spring up into the market. If you want to sell wireless charging products to Europe, you need to do CE certification. The following is the interpretation of WPT regulation ETSI EN 303 417:

◆ Before the publication of ETSI EN 303 417, WPT was included in ETSI EN 300 330-2 (R&TTE). While ETSI EN 300 330 V2.1.1, which was released after RED, officially moved WPT out of scope and became a separate standard, namely ETSI EN 303 417.

◆ As of April 2021, ETSI EN 303 417 has only been published once, namely V1.1.1. But ETSI EN 303 417 V1.1.1 has not been included in the list of publications in the Official Journal, which means that all WPT CE certification requires NB, and products can only be sold in Europe after get certificates.

◆ The present document covers fixed systems, mobile and portable systems，and these radio equipment types are capable of operating in the permitted frequency bands below 30 MHz as specified in Table 1.

◆ Because of the close interaction between base station and mobile device the manufacturer shall provide all necessary parts for the presentation of equipment and for testing purposes. Additional declarations to establish the appropriate test conditions:

  ◇ the mechanical setup/alignment

  ◇ the maximum allowed values for the x-y-z offset within the alignment (worst-case alignment)

  ◇ the mechanical orientation

  ◇ the permitted range of frequencies

  ◇ the range of operating conditions including the duty cycle or pulsing operational parameter

  ◇ power requirements

  ◇ information about which part of the WPT System can be interpreted as transmitter (mode dependent)

◆ The manufacturer shall declare for each possible operation mode of the WPT system (overview see Table 2).

● The manufacturer shall declare the maximal distance D. At this distance D the WPT system is able to start the communication within the adjustment mode (see Figure 7).

　- If the distance D is < 1 m, the WPT system shall be tested with the set-up described in clause 6.1.4.

　- If the distance D is > 1 m, each transmitting part shall be tested separately.

●  The manufacturer shall declare the possibility to differentiate mode 3 and mode 4 of the WPT system (e.g. with specific test software). Each mode shall be tested separately.

● The measurement distance for each WPT system mode (see clauses 6.1.2 to 6.1.5) shall be 10 m. An alternative measurement distance (e.g. 3 m) may be used as long as the measured values at the actual test distance are extrapolated to 10 m according to ETSI EN 300 330, Annex H.
