Introduction
Under the South African Telecommunications Act, wireless and telecom devices used within the country must be approved by ICASA for legal sale and use. ICASA certification is limited to local entities, so domestic businesses selling in South Africa need local importers for application, with testing possible domestically.
《2023 Radio Spectrum Regulations Amendment》
On May 23, 2023, ICASA announced the allocation of the Lower 6 GHz frequency range (5925 - 6425 MHz) for RLAN/Wi-Fi usage.
They also released a revised version of the 2023 Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations to reflect this allocation, outlining the licensed bands and operational requirements for the technology.
WLAN 6 GHz (5925 – 6425 MHz) power limits are as follows:
-Indoor low power products must not exceed 23 dBm (e.i.r.p.).
-Ultra Low Power Type Products (Outdoor or Indoor) Products must not exceed 14 dBm (e.i.r.p.)
