In line with the ongoing commitment to improve the transparency and efficiency of the certification process as mentioned in the Gulf Technical Regulations, The Gulf Standards Organization (GSO)  has introduced updated requirements regarding the acceptance period for test reports and their traceability for products applying for G Mark certification. These updates aim to harmonize the certification process of certification agencies and ensure the reliability of the certification process. The  new requirements for test reports by GSO have come into effect. If you need to apply, please also pay attention to prepare reports according to the following new requirements:

1. Regarding the maximum acceptance period of test results:

According to the latest requirements, the test results used to apply for G-Mark certification must be obtained within 3 years prior to the submission date of the application. If the test results are valid for more than 3 years, a new report shall be issued after re-testing according to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. Reports with updated dates without testing will not be accepted.

For example, if the manufacturer submits the application on 2024.10.01, the test results must be completed after 2021.10.01 to be accepted.

2. Traceability of test reports and products applying for certification:

a. The test report should clearly list the manufacturer, brand and model of the G-Mark application.

b. The production location (factory) reflected in the report should be consistent with the information in the certification application.

c. The test report should contain sufficient photographs of the tested products so that the issuing agency can identify the products (models) applying for certification, especially in the case of series products or series models.

3. About Product Identity Declaration (PID):

a. When the test report is inconsistent with the product model applied for, a product identification declaration (PID or DOI) is required to explain the relevance, similarities and differences between the product applied for certification and the tested product, including references to all test reports of relevant test results.

b. The PID/DOI should be signed by the authorized person on behalf of the manufacturer or his authorized representative (such as the technical director or senior management representative) on an official letter showing the company name and address.

c. Any remaining differences found by the manufacturer or the issuing body should be evaluated by reviewing and testing product samples in a qualified testing laboratory, and the test report should be included as part of the certification documents according to the conformity assessment procedures described in the GSO technical regulations
