On June 16, 2025, the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFETEL) of Mexico published an agreement in Diario Oficial De La Federacion(DOF), which modified the effective date of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Sea on approved products, equipment, devices or apparatus intended for telecommunications or broadcasting from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2027.

IFETEL published the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Sea on December 26, 2023. On October 2, 2024, IFETEL established the entry into force of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on July 1, 2025. However, some Mexican enterprises requested to replace or suspend this Guidelines because of the uncertain factors. On April 9, 2025, IFETEL decided to make a Public Consultation about modifying the date of entry into force of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal from April 11, 2025 to May 2, 2025. On June 16, 2025, IFETEL modified the effective date of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Sea on July 1, 2027.

After July 1, 2027, all approved products, equipment, devices or apparatus intended for telecommunications or broadcasting, must follow the below requirements： 

1. The IFT Seal must be printed in 100% positive black or 100% negative black, respecting the protection areas (these are the perimeter spaces of the IFT Seal, in which texts or other graphic elements must not be placed in order to allow legibility) and minimum printing dimensions(length 5.41mm*height2.6mm) as defined in Figure 1.

2. The IFT Stamp must be legible without the aid of magnification or magnification, and easily visible to the end user, considering the minimum print dimensions.

3. In the marking or labeling of approved Products, the IFT Seal must be included, in addition to the prefix "IFT" in capital letters and the number of the Approval Certificate provided for in the Thirty-eighth guideline of the Approval Guidelines, as shown in figure 2.

4. Exceptionally, in the event that the product is so small that it is not possible to display the marking or labeling physically on the Product or on its box or packaging, nor can it be displayed electronically on the Product , it must be displayed physically in its manual or , where applicable , in the electronic manual as indicated in Guideline Thirty - eighth of the Approval Guidelines.
