The BSMI of Taiwan on October 28, 2025, draft amendments to the inspection regulations for six types of goods, including audio-visual recording or playback machines, and four types of information products, including digital cameras and digital camcorders. These amendments are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2028. The main changes include: products with network connectivity will now be required to meet cybersecurity testing standards; digital cameras and camcorders without storage functions will be newly included in the inspection list; video wall displays will be newly included in the inspection list; and products previously subject to declarations of conformity (routers, bridges, switches, network hubs, and gateways) will be required to undergo verification registration or type approval.
