Indonesia Further Clarifies Applicable Rules for Certification Test Reports of 6GHz RLAN Devices
Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Informatics has issued a circular clarifying that starting January 15, 2026, test reports for 6GHz RLAN equipment must be issued by Indonesian local laboratories or laboratories from countries that have signed mutual recognition agreements with Indonesia. The new regulation mainly governs the source of reports, and relevant manufacturers should pay attention to qualification and frequency band requirements to avoid affecting certification.

The manufacturer reporting obligations under the EU Cyber Resilience Act will take effect this year
Under the EU Cyber Resilience Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/2847), manufacturers’ vulnerability and incident reporting obligations will apply from 11 September 2026, ahead of the main implementation in 2027. If a product with digital elements sold in the EU has an actively exploited vulnerability or serious security incident, manufacturers must issue an early warning within 24 hours, provide updates within 72 hours, and submit a final report within one month. Non-compliance may result in fines of up to €15 million or 2.5% of global turnover, highlighting the EU’s shift toward continuous post-market cybersecurity responsibility.

FCC updated KDB 484596 D01 "Referencing Test Data" guidance on January 28, 2026, to provide a more flexible pathway for equipment variant certification. The new rules allow referencing of original test data when new frequency bands are enabled via software without changing hardware components, with only the newly added band requiring full testing.

Latest Revision of the UK PSTI
On December 4, 2025, the PSTI (Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure – relevant connectable products security requirements regulations) issued its latest revision: within the existing “security requirements” compliance framework, recognition of Japan’s JC-STAR STAR-1 and Singapore’s Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) has been added, allowing them, under specified conditions, to serve as alternative “deemed-to-comply” pathways.
