Q：What products are mandatory to apply?

A：According to SABS’s guideline, products including electronic circuit board, motor…will generate electromagnetic waves, and must receive conformance assessment. Therefore almost all electrical products without wireless function need to apply for SABS-CoC.

Q：What information do I need to fill the application form?

A：Certificate holder details (certificate holder must be a South African registered company), manufacturer details and product details.

Q：Is it allowed to add series model names?

A：Yes, there could be a maximum of four model names (including the main model name) on one certificate. For model names excess four, it is required to apply for an additional certificate.

Q：How long is the certificate valid for?

A：Three years.

A：So far there’s no specific requirement. 

NRCS-LoA

Q：What products are mandatory to apply?

A：All common electrical products including ITE, AV, household appliance need to apply for NRCS-LoA .

A：The certificate holder must be a South African registered company.

Q：How long is the certificate valid for?

A：Three years.

A：So far there’s no specific requirement. 

ICASA

1.

A：All electrical products with wireless or telecommunication function need to apply for ICASA approvals.
