【Attention】FCC Revises ECR Review Process and Line Conducted FAQ Guidelines
On August 7, 2025, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) updated two important KDB documents, covering the Equipment Compliance Review (ECR) process guidelines and frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding conducted emissions testing.

[Alert] FCC certification halted amid U.S. government shutdown
Due to a partial lapse in federal government funding, the FCC has suspended most operations effective 12:00 AM EDT on October 1, 2025. This includes the FCC website and certification body access to the FCC EAS system (which includes the following system functions: querying historical FCC ID certification records, viewing FCC-approved test laboratory information, applying for FRNs and GCs, key data sheets (KDBs), and uploading and issuing certificates within the FCC). Therefore, FCC certificates cannot be issued during this period. As of today, this has not yet been resumed, and the specific resumption time is subject to further notification from the FCC.

Canada DFS testing will use the new ETSI standard
On September 10, 2025, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) issued Notice 2025-DRS0006, proposing to designate ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024 - 11) as the specified method for Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) testing, aiming to enhance the technical standardization and compatibility of relevant equipment. ISED recommends a six-month transition period, during which enterprises may choose to use either the old or new ETSI standard; after the transition period, new certifications must adopt the new standard.

ISED SAR Regulations Update
News Summary: Canada has released a new version of "RSS-102.SAR.MEAS - Measurement Procedure for Assessing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 Issue 2." Starting August 15, 2025, there will be a six-month transition period during which either issue 1 or issue 2 may be used. By mid-February 2026, certification will require conversion to the new version.

Wi-Fi 6E module certification changes dramatically
On October 11, 2024, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) released the WIFI6E test standard RSS-248 Issue 3, which became mandatory on April 11, 2025.
