Wi-Fi 6E module certification changes dramatically
On October 11, 2024, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) released the WIFI6E test standard RSS-248 Issue 3, which became mandatory on April 11, 2025. The main changes of this certification include the addition of a new device type, very low-power devices, the adjustment of warning statements, and only allow modules to apply for the Limited Modular approval (LMA). [Reminder] Major changes to the FCC data reference rules
On March 21, 2025, FCC released KDB 484596 D01 Referencing Test Data v03 to replace the old version v02r03. New version 03 can be used for immediate certification. During the transition period (before April 30, 2025), both the old and new versions can be used, but they cannot be mixed. The new version v03 no longer requiring an ECR inquiry to the FCC, and is fully performed by the TCB.
