On November 13, 2025, the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) officially issued Circular No. 29/2025/TT-BKHCN, replacing the previous Circular No. 02/2024/TT-BTTTT. The new regulations will take effect on December 31, 2025.

Reminder of new Vietnamese regulations: Imported IP cameras must meet information security standards starting in 2026
On December 31, 2024, the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology officially released the national technical standard QCVN 135:2024/BTTTT, which sets forth clear information security requirements for surveillance cameras (IP cameras) using Internet Protocol (IP) protocols. This standard will officially take effect on January 1, 2026, at which time all IP cameras imported into Vietnam will be required to meet this standard before entering the market.

Vietnam MoST issues new regulations on safety of household electrical appliances
Starting from April 1, 2025, the government encourages enterprises and individuals to voluntarily meet the new regulatory requirements of QCVN 25:2025/BKHCN. Starting from April 1, 2027, it will be mandatory for electrical equipment mentioned in Appendix A and Appendix B to meet the new requirements before they are put on the market.
