Notice about Vietnam MIC releases new version of wireless regulations

Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam has released updated versions of wireless technology regulations QCVN 54: 2020 / BTTTT and QCVN 74: 2020 / BTTTT (referred to as "new version"), which is currently subject to public consultation. The updated technical regulations are mainly for the use of wireless technology 2.4GHz WiFi, Zigbee and 1-40GHz SRD and other related equipment.

 

1. New regulations and corresponding European standards:

 

QCVN 54:2020/BTTTT is correspond to ETSI EN 300 328 v2.2.2 (2019-07)

 

QCVN 74:2020/BTTTT is correspond to ETSI EN 300 440 V2.2.1(2018-07).

 

2. The following are the relevant requirements of the new version of the standard:

 

2.1. All test reports based on the old version regulations QCVN 54: 2011 / BTTTT or QCVN 74: 2013 / BTTTT (hereinafter referred to as "old version") will no longer be accepted for wireless certification applications, and need to be retested according to the requirements of the new version regulations;

 

2.2. All MIC certificates holding old regulations need to be updated or new regulations added to the original certificates;

 

2.3. In order to meet the implementation requirements of the new version, MRA laboratories need to apply to the MIC official to authorize the new regulations and standards before they can perform relevant tests;

 

2.4. The test report issued by the MRA laboratory must meet at least the test standards of ETSI EN 300 328 v2.2.2 (2019-07) or ETSI EN 300 440 V2.2.1 (2018-07) before it can be used for wireless certification applications;

 

3. The main product categories involved in this update are as follows:

 

a、 QCVN 54:2020/BTTTT:

For all devices using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or Zigbee technology (such as Laptop, tablet, mobile phone, access point, Wi-Fi router, Smarthome Zigbee products ... etc.)

 

b、 QCVN 74:2020/BTTTT:

For all devices using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or Zigbee technology (such as Laptop, tablet, mobile phone, access point, Wi-Fi router, Smarthome Zigbee products ... etc.)

 

4. The plan for the implementation of this new version of the Circular will be issued in April 2021 and will be officially enforced from July 1, 2021.
