Brazil ANATEL Changed the Approval Requirements and Extend the Scope of Renewal without Samples
Brazil ANATEL published Act 7280 on 26th November, 2020. This Act replaces the Act No. 2222 and will become effective after 180 days, on 1st June, 2021
Main changes of the new Act are as following:
1. Type five products that previously required renewal every year, now the renewal period change to every 2 years, such as Mobile phones, batteries and chargers for mobile phones, POS machines, IP phones, and etc.;
2. Type one products that previously were not required to do the renewal, now the renewal period change to every 3 years, , such as OLT, Data Network Equipment (Switch) installed in corporative/industrial environment, Multiplexer, Coaxial cables and etc.;
3. ISO Certificate (with sworn-in translation if in English) will be required for all Certifications, except for those products whose Conformity Assessment Mode is “Conformity Declaration”;
4. ANATEL accepts test reports from foreign labs which is a member of ILAC for some specific products, such as OLT, Data Network Equipment (Switch) installed in corporative/industrial environment and etc.
By the way, ANATEL published official letter no 646/2020 which informed to extend the scope of renewal without sample on 21st December, 2020. Renewal for ANATEL certificates expired between 3/6/2020 to 30/6/2021 doesn’t require to provide samples, but internal and external photos and conformity letter.
