To be concerned, it’s time to provide 3GPP TS 34.229-5 test report while applying Malaysia MCMC type approval for your 5G user equipment with voice function.
The Malaysian Industrial Standards Institute (SIRIM) issued the announcement SQASI/CMCS/1/22/0013, and the announcement requirements are as follows:
On August 24, 2021, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) released MCMC MTSFB TC T016:2021. According to this regulation, any 5G user equipment that supports Voice over New Radio (VoNR)/Voice over 5G (Vo5G) functions shall meet the regulatory requirements of 3GPP TS 34.229-5.
Therefore, when submitting the application for SIRIM/MCMC of the above-mentioned types of equipment, the 3GPP TS 34.229-5 test report should be submitted for evaluation before it was approved.
On another hand, If the 5G user equipment has voice function but does not support VoNR/Vo5G specifications, the applicant still needs to issue an official declaration letter.
BTL will continue to pay attention to the latest developments in Malaysia's 5G regulations. For other needs, please contact BTL International Approval Department.
