Share:

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) released RSS-102 Issue 6 on December 15, 2023, the testing standard for " Radio Frequency (RF) Exposure Compliance of Radiocommunication Apparatus (All Frequency Bands)". There is a 12-month transition period from the date of release. During the transition period, certification applications for RSS-102 Issue 5 or Issue 6 are accepted. RSS-102 Issue 6 was enforced on December 15, 2024, that is, after December 15, 2024, only RSS-102 Issue 6 will be accepted for certification applications.

RSS-102 Issue 6 publishes a series of measurement and simulation procedures to support the evaluation of RF exposure compliance such as SAR:

  • RSS-102.SAR.MEAS Issue 1:Measurement Procedure for Assessing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102.

  • RSS-102.NS.MEAS Issue 1、RSS-102.NS.SIM Issue 1:Measurement/Simulation Procedure for Assessing Nerve Stimulation (NS) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102.

  • RSS-102.IPD.MEAS Issue 1、RSS-102.IPD.SIM Issue 1:Measurement/Simulation Procedure for Assessing Incident Power Density (IPD) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102.

  • In addition, other measurement and simulation procedures for parameters such as absorbed power density (APD) are under development.
