Bluetooth Alliance Launches New Contributing Adopter Membership, with Fee Adjustments and Technical Updates Taking Effect Simultaneously

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group recently announced the addition of a new "Contributing Adopter" membership level, effective January 5, 2026. This level is divided into small contributors (Contributing Adopter (small)) and large contributors (Contributing Adopter (large)). Members at this level will have the opportunity once per year to enjoy a 33% discount, reducing the price from the original $11,040 to $7,360.

The annual membership fees are as follows: 

small contributors at $3,200 and large contributors at $15,200.


This membership level also includes corresponding technical participation benefits, helping companies integrate more efficiently into the Bluetooth ecosystem.

Additionally, the Bluetooth SIG will implement membership fee adjustments effective March 1, 2026. The detailed price list has been released to members. This adjustment aims to support the alliance’s ongoing efforts to promote technical standardization and industry collaboration.

On the technical front, TCRLpkg101 was released on November 4, 2025, and will be enforced starting February 2, 2026. 

The update includes:

• Core.TCRL.p49

• Adoption of Core 6.2

• IOPT.TCRL.p7

• Updates based on CWS/CWP 1.0 and CSIS/CSIP 1.1

• Addition of test cases for PBP

• GATTBased.TCRL.p27, etc.

These revisions will further enhance the interoperability, security, and functional consistency of Bluetooth devices.
