The last date of concurrent running of IS 1293: 2005 and IS 1293 : 2019 has now been extended upto 23 October 2021
Base on Announcement by BIS, The last date of concurrent running of IS 1293: 2005 and IS 1293 : 2019 has now been extended up to 23rd October 2021.
What to do if end product was certificated with plug under IS 1293:2005 and would like to upgrade to IS 1293:2019? Here are three common situations for reference:
1. No action is required for Licensee using BIS certified plugs/sockets from the same source as declared in the CCL list. Same source means, plugs/socket-outlet Manufacturing unit holding BIS licence/CML number as per IS 1293. Which means there is no need to apply CCL update for end product to change of BIS certified Plug from 10A to 6 A or 16 A if the source (BIS licensee/CML no.) of Plug is same. However, a document in form of undertaking shall be uploaded on portal indicating the source and rating of plugs as per IS 1293:2019 to be used with the end product.
2. In case of change of source of BIS certified plugs/sockets, as declared earlier, the CCL list may be updated, by option available on CRS Portal.
3. For a Direct plug-in Adapter approved by BIS already with old standard (IS1293:2005) for plug dimension in the report, there is no need to apply for CCL update of Direct plug-in Adapter since dimensional requirements are same in IS 1293:2019 vis a vis IS 1293:2005. However, after deadline of implementation of IS 1293:2019 as per BIS notification, issuing of new test report by laboratory with Plug dimensions shall be as per the latest version IS 1293:2019.
Please news is refered to CM-III/16:IS 1293, showing as below.
