IMDA has recently published the Technical Specifications for Security Requirements for Residential Gateways (“IMDA TS RG-SEC”) and it is a mandatory TS for RG devices.
The equipment registration for such device will commence on 2 November 2020 .
The applicant is required to affix the IMDA’s compliance label and additional Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (“CLS”) label on the registered RG devices.
IMDA will be finalising the details of the labelling soon. Will update accordingly once the labelling requirement have been finalised.
Technical Specifications will come into effect in six months, on 13 April 2021.
Home routers previously approved by IMDA can continue to be sold until 12 October 2021.
