Attention: ISED Spectra system is temporarily shut down again!

Share:

The Spectra servers will not be available from Thursday, February 1st until Monday, February 5st (EST).

The sudden shutdowns of ISED Spectra systems will certain causes the delay for IC grants.

BTL will keep in touch with the CB and once the maintenance is completed, CB will be notified by us to issue grants as soon as possible.

If you want to know more, please feel free to contact us.

ISED is including Q&As to provide more clarifications and help the industry take appropriate measures and be adequately prepared for the 5 days Spectra shutdown:

1. Will the REL and other database functions (company search, lab search) be accessible during this time?

• During the shutdown period, all database functions will be unavailable, including tools such as company search, REL & TAR search tools. Searching for recognized CBs & Labs will still be available as this is not directly dependent on the availability of Spectra.

2. For Applications submitted into spectra web, shown as “granted” (i.e. ISED internal review completed) and with a deferred REL listing - will these devices get listed on the REL as expected?

• For Applications approved and “granted” in Spectra (without a deferred listing date) prior to the shutdown, they will get listed on the REL before the shutdown and the listing will be available again, as soon as the REL is back online after the shutdown period is over.

• For “granted” applications with a deferred listing date set within the shutdown period, the listing will appear on the REL immediately when Spectra is back online. The listings will not be available on the expected date since the REL will not be available during the shutdown.

• For “granted” projects with a deferred listing date set after the shutdown period, the listing will appear on the REL on the expected date.

3. For Applications submitted into spectra web prior to the shutdown where the ISED internal review has not been assigned or is in process, will these be reviewed during the shutdown of spectra web?

• This is a complete Spectra shutdown. Spectra Web as well as ISED’s Spectra internal interface for review & approval will be unavailable during the shutdown period.

• Applications submitted into Spectra prior to the shutdown where the ISED internal review cannot be completed before the shutdown, will be temporarily on hold during the shutdown period. As soon as Spectra is back online, ISED’s internal reviews will resume.

4. For Applications submitted into spectra web prior to the shutdown where the ISED internal review has not be assigned or is in process, will they be listed on the REL if ISED complete their review while spectra web is down or not until after spectra web has been restored?

• Applications submitted into Spectra prior to the shutdown, where the ISED internal review is completed and application is compliant, the applications will be listed in the REL before the shutdown. However, since the REL is not be available during the shutdown period, the listing will not be available during that period. The listing will be available again, as soon as the REL is back online after the shutdown period is over.

• Applications submitted into Spectra prior to the shutdown where the ISED internal review cannot be completed before the shutdown will be temporarily on hold during the shutdown period. As soon as Spectra is back online, ISED’s internal reviews will resume and the REL listing will occur after the ISED review is completed.
