Announcement date:
October 31, 2024
Effective date:
For digital broadcasting radio receivers installed in new vehicle: 1 year (October 31, 2025)
For other digital broadcasting radio receivers: 120 days from announcement date (February 28, 2025)
Some useful information:
1 Traditional FM/AM receivers (without digital (DAB) receiver) do not require approval now. And after technical standard is effective, they will not require approval, too.
2. NBTC has 2 main different departments:
2.1 Telecommunication department: This department approve class B, class A, and Sdoc for WWAN/RFID/Wifi/Bluetooth/etc.
2.2 Broadcasting department: This new notification is issued from this broadcasting department. So it becomes that if product is with Wifi/Bluetooth (telecommunication) and DAB digital radio receiver (Broadcasting), it will require 2 Sdocs 1) Sdoc from telecommunication department (for wifi/bluetooth function) and 2) Sdoc from broadcasting department (for DAB receiver function). Both Sdocs will be process separately with separate cost and documentation process. 2 Sdocs will be issued.
