The NCC plans that mobile phones sold in Taiwan should have the function of "manually shutting down" the connection to 2G base stations and "default to shut down". The relevant schedule is as follows
(I) Mobile phones that have obtained type certification from May 1, 2025: should comply with the above-mentioned requirements of this Council.
(II) Mobile phones that have obtained type certification from September 1, 2021 to April 30, 2025: should meet the requirements of the previously announced NCC through online software update (OTA) before September 30, 2025.
