The Prospects and Testing of SparkLink Technology

Share:

In recent years, with the rapid development of smart terminals, the Internet of Things, smart vehicles, and industrial automation, traditional short-range wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth and WiFi have gradually faced bottlenecks in terms of latency, reliability, and multi-device connection. SparkLink technology, as a new generation of short-range wireless communication standard independently developed in China, has become a focus of attention in many industries due to its advantages of ultra-low latency, high reliability, and high concurrency.

I. The Development Prospects of SparkLink Technology

1. Industry Demand-Driven Growth

·Smart Vehicles: SparkLink supports millisecond-level latency, meeting the high real-time requirements of in-vehicle communication (such as smart cockpits, vehicle-to-device interconnection, and sensor data interaction for autonomous driving).

·Industrial Internet of Things: In the field of intelligent manufacturing, SparkLink's high reliability and anti-interference capabilities can replace traditional wired communication, enabling wireless device connections.

·Consumer Electronics: For scenarios with strict requirements for low latency and high audio-video synchronization, such as headphones, mice, game controllers, and AR/VR devices, SparkLink has more advantages than Bluetooth.

2. Policy and Ecological Support

The SparkLink Alliance has gathered over 1,000 member units including Huawei, OPPO, vivo, and Lenovo, promoting the standardization and industrialization of the technology.

The improvement of China's independent technology ecosystem (such as the HarmonyOS ecosystem) will further accelerate the application of SparkLink.

3. Significant Technical Advantages

Ultra-low Latency (<20μs): Far exceeding Bluetooth (about 200ms) and WiFi (about 50ms).

High Reliability (99.999%): Supports industrial-level applications.

Multi-node Concurrency (200+ devices): Solves the problem of dense connections in smart home and factory sensor networks.

II. SparkLink Alliance SLE Technology RF Consistency Testing Project and Testing Precautions

1. Testing Standard: SparkLink Wireless Communication System Access Layer Low Power Consumption Technical Requirements and Testing Methods - T-XS10002.

2. Testing Items: Output power range, GFSK frequency deviation, PSK error vector amplitude, frequency tolerance, working mode clock accuracy, sleep mode clock accuracy, GFSK in-band transmission, PSK in-band transmission, out-of-band transmission spurious emissions, reference sensitivity, maximum input level, in-band selectivity, out-of-band selectivity, receiver intermodulation interference, receiver spurious emissions, receiver RSSI measurement accuracy.

3. Testing Environment Precautions:

Testing should be conducted in an electromagnetic shielded room to avoid interference from external WiFi, Bluetooth, 5G, etc.

The environmental noise level should be below the standard limit (such as -90dBm or lower) to ensure the accuracy of test data.

Temperature and humidity should be controlled within the standard range (such as 23±5°C, humidity 30% to 60%).

III. SparkLink Product Testing and Listing Process

The SparkLink product testing and listing process includes three steps:

1. Pre-test Preparation: The submitting manufacturer for SparkLink product testing should be a member of the alliance and have paid the membership fee.

2. Product Testing: The submitting manufacturer selects an authorized laboratory of the alliance, communicates with the authorized laboratory about the testing work, submits a testing application including the test set, test items, and test plan, and delivers the test samples. The authorized laboratory completes the designated testing work and generates a test report.

3. Product Listing: The submitting manufacturer submits the product test report and compliance documents to the alliance secretariat, communicates with the secretariat about the listing information, and provides a separate explanation document for the same series of products. After review and confirmation by the alliance testing experts, the submitting manufacturer signs a "SparkLink Trademark License Agreement" with the alliance, and the secretariat updates the listing website information. (Currently, the listing of SparkLink products is free.)

Starlight SLE radio frequency consistency testing is a crucial step to ensure the performance and compliance of devices. It is necessary to strictly control the testing environment, instrument calibration, and standard compliance. It is recommended that manufacturers cooperate with certification laboratories during the R&D stage to avoid compliance risks in advance. BTL has conducted R&D stage testing and export mandatory certification for many customers. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the BTL team at any time. BTL will share more comprehensive information with you.

Overview of EN IEC 61000-4-29:2026

The key focus of the 2026 edition is to address new DC power distribution environments, especially higher-voltage DC systems. It also clarifies test generator capability, duration tolerance, current limitation during short interruptions, inrush current verification, result evaluation, and test report requirements. For products using 24 Vdc, 48 Vdc, 380 Vdc, 400 Vdc, 800 Vdc, or other DC input pow
